Dear Peter,Herbert,Alexander,Volker,Daniel,Angarvater, and of couse all other our colleagues who payid their time to attend on this building :))) I'm very glad that you pay your attention to my small, and very particular galleon plastic model " rigging" process, and very grateful for all of your warm comments, and glad if you find some ideas usefull for your own projects... :)))? I' m sorry I didn left regulary my comments to the posts in yours own buildings, but I watch and study your projects, some of them extremily interesting in respect of my future projects... or just very interesting in historic aspects!!! :))) ... Thanks Again! My Nearest plans - to complete ...complitely :))) Xaa... rigging of tacks and sheets and braces of grobe and fore masts, to make flags, pennants and anchors...and make good looking stands, not like original in set... Wish all of you, All the Best!!!
Good day, Dear Friends, here are a few more pictures, last in this "season"...next "session "will be in summer time. *I've made some kit's anchor conversion- try to make them more looks like 16-17 century anchor, not like they were given in the kit/some kind of 18 century anchor type? *prepaired couple of lead blocks for spritsail sheets/there I did mistake when called it spritsail clewline lead block/ meant sheet block of couse *and most interesting thing - first time I try to use" gold leaf" - result ,by my opinion, just perfect!!! much ,much better than any other metallic paint I try before...this time, Ive got realy gold shining effect on my decor...:))) funny thing, that it happened too much shining now :)... and I need to find the way how to stain it/make it less shining :)))...will do it later, in summer...I saw a few interesting techniques in Ytube how to manage" gold leaf" looks ancient...
I would like to wish all of you MXmass and All The Best in coming NY 2019 !!!

Well done, Kirill The ribbons round the stock are an anachronism.
For me its sometimes too much gloss in gold leaf on a model. But you can contol the gloss if you try to add a little patina with oil colors on the golden surface.
Cheers, Alexander

Good day Alexander, Yes, You are absolutely right, it is too much shining now..it was more experiment for me , how to work with this material :))),than realy nessesary to repaint existing color...but after ,when I saw such perfect results,on the next model, if nessasary, I will use this "gold leaf" only ,but not "gold "paint or other" gold" metallic paints as I try before :))) as you advise, I will use patina to shade a little bit gloss of this gold leaf...:) I 'm planing to do it in summer time(there will be 4-5 months gap, and we will see how it will keep gold color without laquer / varnish protection) ... first I wanted to cover all the rest of my "carving" with the same staff ( gold leaf), and after that, I will use "patina" every where to control the gloss of the gold...
Good day Dear Community! I’m continuing experiments with using" potal"( fake gold) instead of gold paint (maybe this idea will be useful for someone to use "potal " for gilding decor on the model.,and ...and not only decor ... It could be used for guilding model's stands ... some other parts on the model which surfaces need to be looks like " metal" On the first foto you could see difference between gold acrylic paint and "potal leafs" Presently I’ll try to replace paintings of all decorative elements. which were painted by gold paint in the past (the first photo shows the difference between the gold paint and potal leafs) ...and repaint them with "potal"... Also I repaint anchor's wooden parts partuatly and rearange imitation fasteners which joining two wooden halves and I prefabricated " plates " for main tacks and made "boarding" anchor, which later on will be fastened to the bowsprit ... and yes, I decided to replace Stern Shields, and made it in relief but not flat picture (foto print) as before...
